St. Petersburg Beach Weddings

St. Petersburg Beach offers a laid back, family friendly environment and is considered to be more “relaxed” than Clearwater Beach. You’ll find a variety of restaurants, shopping, and accommodations at your fingertips. Family friendly resorts, private home and condominiums rentals, boutique style motels, and bed & breakfasts line the beaches of St. Pete. We call it St. Petersburg Beach but in reality it’s a series of small towns and beaches that are strung together. You can easily pass through three towns without realizing it! If St. Petersburg Beach is your destination of choice for your Florida Beach Wedding then you are in for a treat. In most cases you can have your wedding on the beach right behind your hotel or, with a short drive, be at some of the best wedding beaches on the Gulf Coast. Here are a few of our favorite spots:

St. Pete/Pass-a-Grille

Pass-a-Grille beach is a beautiful long strip of powder white sand that has ample parking (metered) and can accommodate anything from a small wedding of two to a party of 50 or more. There are a couple of restaurants directly across the street that can accommodate a small reception. The biggest plus to Pass-a-Grille beach is that the parking is very close and doesn’t require as much walking for your guests to get to your beach wedding site. This can be a factor with elderly guests. Accommodations along Pass-a-Grille are mostly Mom and Pop Motels and Bed & Breakfasts. It’s the perfect spot for an intimate beach Wedding.

St. Pete Public Access

Sugar white sands, rustic boardwalks, and the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico are the perfect backdrop to your St. Pete Beach Wedding. The Public Access has a large metered parking lot for you and your guests. Private condominium rentals and boutique hotels are nearby and can be a great option if you and your guests want to walk to your Wedding ceremony.

Upham Beach

Nestled in a Residential area, Upham Beach is one of our little known beaches. You will find fewer tourists at this beach. It’s generally considered to be a “locals” beach. There are resorts and condominium rentals nearby for your stay and plenty of parking available to you and your guests in the metered parking lot. Upham Beach is one of the only locations that has large Yellow Sandbags that can be seen from the shore. They are a permanent fixture on the beach to help with Erosion so it’s definitely something that you want to keep in mind if you are considering Upham Beach for your Beach Wedding location. For this location, we recommend smaller Weddings. For more info on the St. Pete Beach area, visit the St. Pete Beach Visitors Guide
