Beach Wedding Photographer

Beach Wedding Photographer There are two mistakes that I all too often see brides make when planning their perfect Florida beach wedding: The dress The photographer In my previous 2015 Beach Wedding Dresses post, I discussed my words of wisdom when selecting the right dress for a Florida beach wedding. Now, let me impart on you my advice for beach wedding photography. Your wedding pictures are the only thing that will outlive your wedding day. When the cake has been eaten, the flowers dry and fall apart, and memories begin to fade the last thing you want to do is look at your wedding pictures and think “I wish these came out better.” I advise all my brides to make choosing a Florida beach wedding photographer their first priority. Many times, beach wedding planners treat the photography like another “part” to be ordered for your wedding like the cake or catering but beach wedding photography requires a special talent, skill, and training in addition to the right equipment. Beach wedding photography is vastly different from your average wedding photography. A wedding photographer who spends most of their weekends inside a church can find themselves in another world when photographing a Florida beach wedding. Beach wedding photography has so many challenges and aspects fighting each other in every picture; the number one issue being light. In most situations, the surroundings are darker than the subjects but with beach wedding photography it is the exact opposite. The sun is so bright that the bride and groom tend to be darker than the surrounding beach and ocean that oftentimes, you can’t make out the faces in the pictures. Beach wedding photographers must be able to adapt on the fly to the ever changing light conditions of the sun and clouds to ensure the moment is...

How Much Does a Beach Wedding Cost

How Much Does a Beach Wedding Cost Traditional weddings are expensive; between the venue, food, dresses and tuxes, flowers, officiant, and license you can expect to pay somewhere around $20,000! Sending couples deep into debt before the marriage even begins. On the other hand, due to its typical informality, the cost of a beach wedding can be much less expensive. Of course, the exact cost of a beach wedding depends on many of the same factors, like venue and attire, but Perfect Florida Beach wedding is here to help and keep you out of the poor house. In general, I always advise my brides to KISS: keep it super simple; whether we are talking about decorations or location. So, how much does a beach wedding cost? Ceremony A DIY wedding on a public Florida beach can cost $200-$2000 or more depending on the number of guests and how elaborate the set-up is. You will often pay $2-$8 per chair with a minimum delivery charge of $50-$125. It is important to note that the delivery charge does not include set-up; it is simply for curbside drop off and additional fees will be assessed for certain distances and other conveniences. Add in the cost of an officiant ($50-$400), beach permit ($25-$300), and marriage license ($10-$100+) and you’ve got yourself a pretty expensive shindig. However, Perfect Florida Beach Wedding offers ceremony packages that include your choice of beach, filing of Marriage License, marriage ceremony/Officiant, and photographer starting at only $599. Décor Once again, décor can be inexpensive for relatively simple and low-key designs or upwards of $1500 for more intricate and involved schemes. For example, a wedding arch can run you between $200-$500 depending on sturdiness and material and whether you rent or buy while chair sashes will add another $2-5 per chair to your rental costs. Not to...

Beach Wedding Photography: Unplugged Beach Weddings

Beach Wedding Photography: Unplugged Beach Weddings In our previous post, we addressed the importance of hiring an experienced beach wedding photographer and the constant challenges they face especially with the ever-changing light from the sun and clouds. In the second post of the series, we will discuss an additional obstacle for beach wedding photographers, your guests! We could literally go on for days about the importance of having an unplugged wedding because when you host 100+ weddings a year, believe us, you see everything! In today’s age of cell phones and insta-capture obsession people seemed compelled to capture everything on film, even if it means that they are being inconsiderate and rude to either the couple getting married or the professional photographer trying to do their job. Too many times, you see a ceremony where everyone is watching through the lens of their cell phone instead of enjoying the beautiful scenery and moment that the couple is sharing. We’ve even had guests get up in the aisle, right in front of the professional photographer to snap a picture with their phone just as the couple has their first kiss preventing the professional beach wedding photographer from getting a picture of this moment. There is nothing worse than the Mother of the Bride walking backwards down the aisle the WHOLE way so she could video her daughter walking down the Aisle. Some guests have gone as far as walking up and standing behind the minister so they can snap a picture or video record something; probably not the memory you want on your mantel in 15 years.   We constantly encourage couples to have an Unplugged Wedding; by doing so three very important things will happen when you ask for this: You get the Best Beach Wedding Pictures – You will get the most out of...

What to Wear to a Beach Wedding

What to Wear to a Beach Wedding When you get invited to a beach wedding, your first thought is probably “yay, vacation!” which quickly turns to “but what will I wear?”  Figuring out what to wear to a beach wedding is not always easy. Thankfully, for you, I’ve seen my fair share and have put together this handy list of Do’s and Don’ts for men and women when deciding what to wear to a beach wedding What to Wear to a Beach Wedding Do’s Follow traditional etiquette. Even though it is a beach wedding, don’t wear white or try to upstage the bride.   Wear a lightweight fabric that is cool. You don’t want to sweat off all your makeup in the first five minutes on the beach. Consider a flowing sundress, caftan, or maxi dress for a casual beach affair. Pick shoes that can easily be slipped off. This is a beach wedding and you will almost certainly be walking in the sand. Classy flip-flops, slide sandals, or sturdy wedges are typical go-to footwear. Sport sunglasses. The sun is bright, especially on the beach in Florida. Protect those baby blues from UV rays by wearing sunglasses. You want to actually see the ceremony and not squint through it.   Complement your beach wedding wear with bold accessories.   What to Wear to a Beach Wedding Don’ts Pull a Marilyn. Short dresses will blow up in the wind. I recommend a dress knee length or longer in a lightweight fabric. Because this is a beach wedding, it is perfectly acceptable to wear pants; culottes, linen drawstrings, and jumpsuits make good alternatives. Wear hats; especially ones that are easily blown off. The last thing you want is for your big floppy beach hat to blow off and down the beach mid-ceremony. Wear pantyhose. Often this is an...

Why Clearwater Beach Weddings are Perfect

Why Clearwater Beach Weddings are Perfect Clearwater is home to miles of sugar-sand beaches all offering spectacular waterfront sunsets. So it’s no wonder why Clearwater beach weddings are so popular. In addition to amazing views and backdrops, they offer all the charm, beauty, and romance that newlyweds are looking for on their wedding day. Of all the beaches in the greater Pinellas County area, Clearwater Beach is the largest and one of the most popular in the area for beachfront weddings due to its “vibrant” community. Clearwater Beach houses a large number of beach resorts and hotels which entices many people to get married right behind their hotel. There are advantages to having a Clearwater beach wedding right outside your resort, like eliminating the need to travel. However, this poses some disadvantages including more tourists, umbrellas, and tents as Clearwater Beach is a highly popular destination. Additionally, most resorts will not allow you to hold a ceremony on their beach unless you also book a reception with them. This makes it an extremely expensive option as you will have to pay for catering, the ballroom, and decor separately. It is not a good option for brides on a budget unless you are planning to just host your Ceremony on the white sands at a location away from the resorts.    Allow Perfect Florida Beach Wedding to help you plan perfect Clearwater Beach Weddings. We have found a diamond in the rough for you to exchange vows. Sand Key Park is one of our favorite Clearwater beach wedding spots. The park has a large beach, white sand, dunes, a rock jetty, and beautiful sunsets; the perfect location for small or large wedding parties; easily accommodating 150+ people. Sand Key Park has all the amenities required to host a Clearwater Beach Wedding. They have two large pavilions...

Planning a Beach Wedding on a Budget

Planning a Beach Wedding on a Budget Like most women, you have probably been dreaming of your special day since you were a little girl. The dress, the cake, the venue, all previously envisioned and even though you may have dreamed about all the little details of your perfect Florida beach wedding, your adult self is probably dreaming of something a little more affordable. Well, you are in luck! One of the best things about beach weddings over traditional church weddings is that they can save you a little bit of money. With Perfect Florida Beach Wedding packages, it’s easy to plan a Florida beach wedding on a budget and still have the ceremony you’ve been dreaming of since childhood. Weddings can be expensive but if you follow our tips for planning affordable beach weddings you can not only save a pretty penny but also have the perfect Florida beach wedding on a budget. Set and plan your wedding for a weekday. The nice thing about having a Florida beach wedding is that the weather is nice year-round. Unfortunately, this means we don’t have your typical “off-season” that starts around Memorial Day but you will see significant costs savings in hotel fees and wedding packages. A HUGE upside to a weekday wedding is that the beaches are near empty allowing you to enjoy your special day without the tourist. Contact Perfect Florida Beach Wedding for more information on our Monday-Thursday All Inclusive Wedding and Reception Packages.     Keep the event simple, ever heard the term KISS—Keep It Super Simple! I know this may sound easy enough but weddings are emotional and brides have so much on their mind that they often add “one more thing” to the event every time they talk to our wedding planners. These little things tend to add up and more details...

Beach Wedding Attire for Men

Beach Wedding Attire for Men The best part of a Florida beach wedding is the atmosphere; its relaxed, calm, and full of sunlight and sea breeze. Your attire should reflect the ambiance. Earlier this month, we focused on the ladies highlighting our advice for picking their 2015 Beach Wedding Dresses. Now, we will shift our focus to the fellas and show you the trends in beach wedding attire for men. Nix the Tux. Once again, Florida is hot pretty much year-round and unless you want to suffocate, forget the tuxedo.  January and February are perhaps the only times of the year where it’s cold enough to don a tux and not die from heat exhaustion. Get comfortable. Right now, linen pants or khaki shorts with White Wedding Shirt also know as a Cuban Shirt seem to be the most popular choices for beach wedding attire for groom. However, if you want to be a little more on the formal side, you may want to consider pairing suit pants with a white shirt and vest. Ties and bowties are a little less common on the beach. Footwear optional. Barefoot beach weddings are the best because sand tends to go everywhere and you have absolutely no control over it. For that same reason you should not go with dress shoes.  If you must have shoes, opt for a sandal or flip flop. Besides who doesn’t love the feel of the sand beneath their feet? Add a splash of color. Color Shirts for men’s beach wedding attire seem to be on the rise. It is a great way to coordinate with the wedding’s color scheme without going over the top. Men’s casual beach attire can also include Hawaiian shirts as long as you choose a slightly muted pattern.  In all honesty the best beach wedding attire for...

Perfect Florida Beach Wedding Venues

Perfect Florida Beach Wedding Venues Once you have picked a date for your perfect Florida beach wedding, the next thing you will want to do is find a venue. Covered by gorgeous beaches on both sides of the state, we have an abundance of Florida beach wedding venues that are perfect for hosting an amazing beach wedding. Having planned dozens of  wedding ceremonies throughout the St. Pete, Clearwater, Treasure Island, and Greater Tampa Bay Area, I can honestly tell you that two of my favorite Florida beach wedding venues are right in my backyard. The Civitan Beach House in Indian Shores and the Lions Club Beach House in Treasure Island are ideal for hosting beachfront weddings and receptions. Civitan Beach House, Indian Shores The Civitan in Indian Shores is a hidden paradise beyond compare. It’s the perfect size for an exotic barefoot wedding for up to 100 guests and smaller intimate receptions. With this unique location, we can host the ceremony right outside just over the dunes on the Public Beach and the nearby pier is great for photos. Afterwards, you can have smaller receptions for 30 or fewer guests set up nearby in the sand or larger parties in the clubhouse. Either way, you will have a beautiful sunset backdrop filling the sky with beautiful yellows, pinks, and oranges.     Lions Club Beach House, Treasure Island The Lions Club Beach House is by far one of my favorite Florida beach wedding venues because they offer a private access to the white sands of the Gulf of Mexico. It’s like having a spot on your beach to call your own and is one of the few locations in Treasure Island that can be reserved for your beach wedding and reception. Located on Sunset Beach, the Lions Club Beach House is a prime spot for...
